Warm Welcome Natural materials create a homelike atmosphere at new headquarters for Truth For Life By Gianna Brooks | Photos by Scott Pease I magination, craftsmanship and technology come together beautifully in a recently completed, one-of-a-kind building that serves as the new headquarters and offices for Truth For Life ministry in Bainbridge Township. but also supported it financially and made space available in the build-ing to make it possible to house the growing team of individuals whose expertise, passion and commitment have seen the ministry outgrow the facilities in the church building. It was inevitable that the day would come when TFL would need to have a home of its own. When the church purchased an adjacent property previ-ously owned and occupied by the VFW, the TFL team began to imagine what could be included in its new facility. The church made it possible for TFL to purchase the property and then the hard work began. TFL quickly enlisted Anthony Paskevich and Associates to design the building. The architectural firm was an obvious choice, having already worked extensively with Parkside, and with the addition of John G. Johnson Construction as general contractor, the team was in place. Eighteen months later, the completed facility stands at 7000 Pettibone Rd. Truth For Life (TFL) had humble beginnings when Bob Butts, now the executive VP, began making programs in his Chicago apartment. His vision was to take the Bible teaching ministry of his pastor, Alistair Begg, and see it spread as widely as possible. Neither of them anticipated the extent to which the vision would become a reality. Today the program is heard daily on some 1,600 outlets across the United States and around the world. The content of the programs comes almost entirely from the pulpit of Parkside Church where Alistair has been the lead pastor since 1983. The church not only gave birth to TFL, 10 Enter the surprise As attractive as it is functional, the building is a contemporary interpre-tation of a New England farmhouse with attached barn, says Jerry Salwan, of Anthony Paskevich & Associates.
